Nico O'Reilly inks long-term Man City deal, praises his mum

Nico O’Reilly described signing a new long-term contract with Manchester City as something “very special.”

The 20-year-old, who joined the club at just eight years old, has grown into a key figure in Pep Guardiola’s first team.0

After committing his future to City with a deal running until 2030, the versatile midfielder reflected on the vital role his mother has played in supporting his football journey and career.

"I'm so happy, I feel really good to have signed this contract with this amazing club. It's made my family proud and yeah; it's an amazing day," he told club webite.

"My mum has been making sacrifices for me since I was a baby, and she has put her life into mine and I'm so happy she was able to do this and just hope one day I can pay her back.0

"She's so proud and obviously she has to take a lot of credit as well because I wouldn't be here without her, so I'd like to say thank you to my mum."
