Bayern Munich reportedly made a surprise summer approach to sign Raheem Sterling, but the Chelsea forward turned down the chance to link up with Harry Kane for one key reason.

The 30-year-old was a prominent member of Chelsea’s ‘bomb squad’ throughout the summer but failed to secure a move away from Stamford Bridge.

According to The Athletic, Bayern made a late approach to Sterling, but he flat out rejected the opportunity to move to Germany.

It’s understood that the winger has no intention of leaving London, where his family has been happy and settled for years.

Sterling is under contract at Chelsea until the summer of 2027 and is reportedly earning around 3300,000 a week, meaning he is in line to earn 330m in wages.
