'It’s Just One Win' - Ruben Amorim Aims to Build Momentum After Man United Victory Over Chelsea

Ruben Amorim urged perspective after Manchester United’s hard-fought victory over Chelsea, describing it as “just one win.”

Amorim’s side earned a much-needed win over Chelea at Old Trafford on Saturday (September 20), their second in the Premier league so far.

Chelsea ‘keeper Robert Sanchez saw red after just five minutes, with Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro making it 2-0 before half time.

Casemiro was also sent off just before the break, but despite a late Trevoh Chalobah goal, United held on for a 2-1 win.

Speaking after the game, Amorim was asked about whether this win has proven his critics wrong.

“It’s nothing about that. People don’t have too many good things to say about our team and our results. I understand that, I’m just joking around all the time.0

“I have nothing to say to the critics, they are right most of the time. But we won, and that’s a good thing for us.

“Our fans helped us a lot in every moment of the second half. They pushed us so back, of course we are in the moment that we want to win so bad so we go back a little bit.

“But we deserved the win, it’s just one win. And we need to think about the next one.

“It’s really important because I understand the environment around the team and the coach. This game was really important for that.0

“It’s Manchester United winning a game at home, it’s just that. Three points. It’s trying to create the momentum. We cannot forget that we suffer a lot when we are not in the top, in our maximum in all aspects.0

“We can lose against Grimsby, we can win against any team. We need to take that for the next week.

“I’m just thinking about the next one. Of course it’s really good to win, you can feel the environment in the dressing room. But forget that feeling.

"I prefer the other feeling now, because it will bring us the urgency to win again. That is really important again.”
