Lionel Messi is reportedly edging closer to signing a new deal with Inter Miami, with Fabrizio Romano indicating that negotiations have entered “advanced stages.”

The 38-year-old has been with the MLS side since the summer of 2023, and his current deal is set to expire at the end of the year.

Messi has been key to everything Inter Miami have been doing on and off the pitch, scoring an impressive 62 goals in 75 appearances.

According to transfer guru Romano, the legendary forward could be set to commit his future to the MLS side.

He adds that while there is still some way to go before the deal can be considered done, talks are now at an ‘advanced stage.’
