Shay Given says Trafford should be furious after Donnarumma arrival: I'd be raging!

James Trafford arrived at Manchester City this season in hopes of replacing Ederson but now after Gianluigi Donnarumma's move to the club his position is in jeoprady.

City completed a deal for the Italian shot stopper on deadline day despite signing Trafford a month earlier. Ederson headed to Fenerbahce which meant manager Pep Guardiola needed a replacement and instead got two before the season began.0

The 26-year-old made his City debut on Sunday’s visit of Manchester United for the 167th derby and kept a clean sheet in their 3-0 victory which does not help Trafford’s case to become the man between the sticks anytime soon.0

Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live's Monday Night Club, former City keeper Given said Trafford has every right to be frustrated as he could have made a move to Newcastle United this summer as the club were very interested.0

"I do feel for Trafford because I know he was heavily linked with Newcastle. My understanding is, well he has the number one jersey on his back but promise isn't the right word in football and guarantee isn't the right word in football but I think James Trafford is a brilliant goalkeeper.0
