Ruben Amorim’s position at Manchester United is under growing scrutiny after the derby defeat to Man City with players reportedly losing faith in their manager.

United were comprehensively beaten by their local rivals on Sunday thanks to an opening goal from Phil Foden and a subsequent Erling Haaland brace.

Amorim remains adamant that he will not change his playing style despite very little evidence that it works in the Premier League.

According to the Daily Mail, he is now in real danger of losing support from a large portion of the dressing room as a result.

The report adds that few players have ever felt comfortable playing in Amorim’s system, and one of the manager’s biggest allies, Bruno Fernandes, is increasingly ‘unhappy.’

It’s understood that the captain is not a fan of having to operate in a deeper midfield role as United endure their worst start to a season in 33 years.
