Brunette Larissa vowed to run naked through Paraguay's capital, Asuncion, if the South Americans won the World Cup, and later posed nude for Playboy magazine.

And in 2017 she promised another striptease if her footballer boyfriend Jonathan Fabbro's club Chiapas made the Mexican league play-offs.

The Asuncion-born beauty has since become a sports journalist after completing a three-year course in communications studies.

She made her debut as a reporter and co-commentator at Paraguay's World Cup qualifier against Peru in Lima on Tuesday.

Larissa posted pictures on social media of herself and broadcast colleagues inside the stadium.

A late goal from Matias Galarza Fonda gave Paraguay a 1-0 win that clinched their place at next summer's finals.

And Larissa, dubbed the World Cup's sweetheart, is now poised to cover her country's exploits at the tournament in the USA, Canada and Mexico.

The 40-year-old said: "It was an emotional and proud moment for me. My heart is torn in two.

"It was my first broadcast. Paraguay has made history - the Guarani boys never give up.

"Everyone knows I love Peru, but Paraguay deserved to win and end their bad run against the Peruvians.

"We have never yet been able to win in Lima, and the fact we have now done it is a historical moment."

Brighton midfielder Diego Gomez and Sunderland defender Omar Alderete are set to go to the World Cup after playing in Paraguay's win.
