Marc Guehi says Liverpool move collapse didn’t affect his mood
Marc Guehi may have watched his dream Liverpool move collapse on deadline day, but the Crystal Palace captain didn’t let it affect his mood with England.
The 25-year-old instead shone during the latest Three Lions World Cup qualifiers, establishing himself as one of the standout performers.
Guehi remained upbeat following the international break. Asked by ITV whether joining up with the national team had been difficult after the deadline day drama, he responded: "It’s been great! It’s always easy coming here, such a good group of players, good group of staff. We are all working towards one goal."
On scoring his first goal for England, he added: "I’m just over the moon. It’s a fantastic feeling. You work really hard growing up, so to score a goal for your country is the best feeling."
