Barcelona are reportedly preparing to compete with Liverpool for Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi, who could sign a pre-contract with the Spanish champions in January.

The 25-year-old came incredibly close to joining Liverpool on transfer deadline day, but Crystal Palace pulled out of the deal after they failed to sign a replacement.

It’s understood that Arne Slot’s side retain an interest in Guehi but could now face major competition from clubs domestically and abroad.

According to Spanish outlet SPORT, Barcelona have now entered the race to sign the England international.

Guehi, who has just one year left on his deal with Crystal Palace, will be able to sign a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs from January first.
