Arsenal starlet Dowman could smash Yamal's Champions League record at just 15 years old
Arsenal's teenage sensation is eyeing his next major milestone as he aims to crush a Champions League record.
Dowman, 15, came off the bench in Arsenal's 5-0 win over Leeds and lit up the Emirates and almost scored a fantastic goal which would have made him the youngest Premier League goalscorer, a record held by0James Vaughan who scored at 16 years, 270 days old.0
The young midfielder is now eyeing a separate record however, as Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta selects his Champions League squad. Aged just 15 years and 235 days, Dowman, who was born in late 2009 and as there are no age limitations currently in place throughout UEFA competitions, he could feature in the competition.0
In the Champions League, he will make history by playing a single minute this season, with no player featuring in the competition at 15. Barcelona starlet Lamine Yamal among six players to play in it at 16 which also includes Youssoufa Moukoko.0
Moukoko is the current holder, at 16 years 18 days, and Dowman could easily beat that if he features in one of Arsenal’s upcoming fixtures against Athletic Club, Olympiacos, Atletico Madrid, Slavia Prague and several other sides.0
Ansu Fati still holds the youngest UCL scorer record - 0at 17 years 40 days - with a 28-day gap ahead of Lamine Yamal and if Dowman featured under Arteta as well as scored there is no doubt that his record would be held for a number of years to come.0
