Liverpool v Bournemouth - Premier League
Crystal Palace would consider allowing Marc Guehi to join Liverpool if Joe Gomez headed in the opposite direction on a season-long loan.
WHAT HAPPENED?
The Eagles are considering asking Liverpool to allow Gomez, 28, to join them temporarily should they receive an offer in the region of £30 million from the Reds for Guehi, according to the BBC. Club captain Guehi, 25, has just one year remaining on his current contract and Palace are reluctant to let him leave on a free transfer next summer.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
However the report also states that Liverpool would reject any formal approach from Palace to take Gomez on loan, with the champions unwilling to lose the defender this summer. Palace have also made a move for Manchester City defender Manuel Akanji but the Switzerland international is believed to be lukewarm about switching to Selhurst Park.
DID YOU KNOW?
Guehi has played in Palace's first four games of the 2025-26 campaign, helping Oliver Glasner's men qualify for the league phase of the Conference League with a 1-0 aggregate win over Norwegian side Fredrikstad. Meanwhile Gomez has made one appearance for Liverpool so far this season, coming off the bench in their 4-2 victory over Bournemouth in the league.
