Cody Gakpo signs new long-term Liverpool contract

Liverpool have confirmed that forward Cody Gakpo has signed a new long-term contract, keeping him at Anfield until at least 2028.

The Dutch international, who arrived in January 2023 during Jurgen Klopp’s tenure, has become a key figure under new manager Arne Slot and has now pledged his future to the Reds.

"Cody Gakpo has signed a new long-term contract with Liverpool FC. The forward ensured he will extend his two-and-a-half-year association with the Reds into the future by putting pen to paper on the deal at the AXA Training Centre on Saturday," the club announced.

Since joining from PSV Eindhoven two-and-a-half years ago, Gakpo has featured 131 times for Liverpool, scoring 42 goals and supplying 16 assists.0

He lifted the Carabao Cup in the 2023/24 season and played a key role in Arne Slot’s team that clinched a record-equalling 20th league title last term.

"It feels amazing to extend the contract here at this beautiful club. I’m very grateful and hopefully I can give back many more beautiful moments,” said Gakpo.
