Stunning TV presenter Diletta Leotta has landed a new role on the Italian version of Match of the Day.

Diletta has become a fan favourite on the screen having worked for the likes of Sky and DAZN at the forefront of football coverage. And the 34-year-old is now set to feature in a new job as she grows her impressive portfolio.

Having spent the last eight years presenting Serie A action on DAZN Italia, Diletta is set to become the new face of Sunday show Fuoriclasse Serie A Show, which follows the same format as the BBC’s iconic football highlights programme.

Sharing the news of her new job to her 9.2million followers on social media, Diletta excitedly announced: "I have some big news: I'm moving from the pitch to the studio to host the Sunday evening program Fuoriclasse Serie A Show. I'm super excited, very happy."

Diletta, who is the better half of former Liverpool and Newcastle keeper Loris Karius, shared more about the role in an interview with Sportsweek.

She said: "I feel part of a shift in the perception of women as presenters and journalists, which I believe is finally taking root. I have to say I'm lucky to work at DAZN.

"Here, they succeed in highlighting skills and valuing talent that go beyond being female or male.

"Even today, I still learn, prepare, and try to stay up to date: That's the most important thing. I also like to wear a nice dress.

"Being well-groomed, pretty, and pleasant to look at is, in my opinion, also a matter of respect for the viewer."

Diletta’s comments about her attire could be a tongue-in-cheek jibe at the criticism she received after wearing a see-through blue dress, which showed her underwear, at her daughter’s second birthday.

She told La Gazzetta dello Sport: “Of course I feel it [people being obsessed with aesthetics]. But I feel part of a shift in the perception of women as presenters and journalists, which I think is finally taking hold.

“In this sense, I have to say I'm lucky to work with DAZN, because here they manage to emphasise competence, valorising talent regardless of whether you're a woman or a man.

“It's clear that image is part of our job, especially for those in television, but if you turn out to be a container without substance, you won't get very far.

“Even today, I study, I prepare, I try to stay up to date: that's the key. Also, a nice dress is a pleasure to wear; being well-groomed, pretty, and pleasant to look at, I think, is also a matter of respect for the viewer, but I think that applies in any work environment.”
