Pep Guardiola admitted he had to make a change over the summer after his daughter branded it "awful".

Guardiola is looking to turn around the fortunes of Manchester City after a below par season from him and his lofty standards. And over the summer the City boos took some time away from the game to recollect his thoughts.

However, that led to a distinct new look for the City boss, as he shaved off his beard leaving just a moustache. The facial hair style has been making a comeback - but 24-year-old Maria Guardiola wasn't impressed after seeing her dad with new look.

"It's gone. My daughter said it was awful, so it had to come off," he told Men in Blazers.

And Guardiola would do well to listen to his daughter - Maria, who boasts over 904,000 followers on social media, is a fashion influencer studied fashion business.

Maria, who is an avid football fan, was born in Spain on December 28, 2000, when her father was the captain of his beloved Barcelona.

The father and daughter have always been close and earlier this year she wrote: “Happy birthday @pepteam. So thankful, I couldn’t have been more lucky. Forever winning at life because of my family."

However, she started to earn headlines in her own right when she was snapped snogging then-Spurs midfielder Dele Alli on a rooftop bar.

One person present told The Sun: “Dele and Maria didn’t seem to have a care in the world. They didn’t mind who saw them as they smooched in front of the DJ booth.

“It was packed with hundreds of revellers watching on. All the tables had been booked and were completely full. Strangers were wandering past and Dele and Maria didn’t blink an eye.

"They were in a group together and it was very cosy. They looked so cute and could have been honeymooners.”

They were spotted leaving a restaurant together months later but neither have ever publicly commented on whether they were in a relationship.
