Barcelona coach Flick talks Casado, Fermin sales; best Rashford role

Barcelona coach Hansi Flick insists he's counting on Marc Casado and Fermin Lopez this season.

Both players have been linked with big money sales this week, as midfielder Casado is a target for West Ham and Wolves, while Fermin is wanted by Manchester United.

But Flick, ahead of Barca's trip to Levante this weekend, said of Casado: "I've spoken to him, and I don't think he wants to leave the club. And I want him here. It'll be a tough season, and I'll need all the players. He inspires confidence and gives us so much. I know it won't be easy for him."

Meanwhile, in Fermin's case, the German stated: "I can repeat what I said. I don't want to lose any player. He's doing very well, and I'm happy with everyone. I love them all because I'll need them."

Flick also commented on expectations around new arrivals Marcus Rashford and Roony Bardghji.

On Swedish youngster Bardghji, he said: "He's not available for tomorrow's match, but he's helping us a lot in training. He'll play a practice match with the reserve team because he needs to gain experience.

"What I'm telling him and the other young players is that they're doing very well, but they need to play. And I hope they'll all be available next week."

Meanwhile, on Manchester United loanee Rashford, Flick added: "He could be an alternative to the number nine. He's more familiar with the number eleven position, but he has some strengths: he's quick, strong, and has a good first touch. We could have a fantastic Rashford this season. I'm absolutely certain of it."
