Oriol Romeu is set to terminate his contract with Barcelona.

The midfielder and management have practically reached an agreement to terminate his contract. Oonly a few minor details remain to be finalised. The signing of the termination agreement will take place shortly, most likely today.

Proof that the split is practically a done deal is that Romeu didn't train with the rest of his teammates on Wednesday. Therefore, his departure is imminent.

The agreement the two parties are close to reaching allows the player to be released and choose his destination. He only had one season left on his contract.

Romeu's exit will allow Barcelona to have sufficient room in their wage ceiling to register youngster Gerard MartDn.
