Raspadori thrilled with Atletico Madrid move as Cerezo shuts "magnificent transfer window"

Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo says Giacomo Raspadori will be their last summer addition.

Cerezo admits Atletico management are delighted with their deal for the former Napoli attacker.

"With his arrival, we're closing out a magnificent transfer window, which gives us great excitement for all the challenges we face this season," said Cerezo at Raspadori's presentation today.

Meanwhile, the Italy international said: “It's a dream for me. First of all, I want to thank the president, the club, and the manager for their confidence. Atleti's image in Italy is incredible. I'm very happy, very proud of this stage.

“The group is incredible, a very good team. The teammates. It's difficult for me to speak Spanish. I'm just starting out. I studied it a little in school, and it's difficult, but I want to improve. What I've seen in these first few days is incredible. Everything that's close to home, the organisation... it's incredible.”

On choosing Atleti, Raspadori said: “It was a very simple, instinctive decision to come here. It's a great club. From the outside, you can see a lot of passion. I've always viewed it very positively. I'm seizing this opportunity because I'm very ambitious, as is the club.

"Having so many strong players in the same role makes you know you have to give more, improve, and earn your position every day. Because of my character, it's a positive thing because I want to improve. Having the difficulty of competing helps me and benefits the team.”
