Ex-AC Milan captain Calabria signing with Panathinaikos

Former AC Milan captain Davide Calabria is signing with Panathinaikos.

The defender moves to the Greek giants as a free agent after coming off contract at Milan this summer.

Calabria said: "I'm very happy to be here. To begin a new adventure. I thank the president, the administration, and the people of Panathinaikos, who have shown they want me. That's why I chose to come here and live up to their expectations."

For the first time, he will play outside of Italy and he also said: "For me, it was a choice. I wanted to start something new outside of my country. Something new. A new adventure. I prepared myself.

"I prepared myself to be able to return to a different perspective, with a different team and with determination. I also knew and appreciated the fact that Panathinaikos wanted me, so I'm ready to come here and continue fighting for victories and titles."
