Darwin Nunez Liverpool HIC
Darwin Nunez has shared a touching goodbye message to Liverpool after departing the club for Al-Hilal.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Nunez sealed his Liverpool exit last week and moved to the Saudi Pro League side for an initial £46.2 million (€53m/$62.1m) which could rise to £56.6m (€65m/$76.1m) with add-ons. The Uruguayan striker leaves Anfield after an up-and-down three years and with a tinge of sadness at his failure to live up to the initial hype and potential that surrounded him. Despite his mixed time, he had an important role in Liverpool's title winning campaign last season and arrives in the Middle East as a Premier League champion.

WHAT NUNEZ SAID
Posting his farewell on social media, Nunez said: "Thank you, Liverpool.
"Three years on, it's time to say goodbye. I'll take with me countless memories that will live with me forever. I leave with a full heart, thanks to the love of a crowd that never let me down and always had my back - through the highs and through the lows.
"Liverpool will always be part of who I am. I'll miss you more than words can say. To all the staff and my teammates - thank you, and all the very best for the future."

THE BIGGER PICTURE
With Nunez departing, it is likely that Liverpool will step up their pursuit of Alexander Isak. The Newcastle striker has made it clear he wishes to move to Anfield and, amid rumours of a second bid being readied, it might only be a matter of time before the Swedish striker is playing in red. Newcastle remain reluctant to let their star man depart, particularly without a replacement lined up, and will demand an astronomical fee. The saga will likely drag out long into the window.

WHAT NEXT FOR LIVERPOOL?
The Reds captain Virgil van Dijk was adamant that they need to bring in additional firepower in the transfer window - despite their heavy outlay already. The Dutch defender mentioned losing Nunez as one of the key reasons why Liverpool need more signings, but whether Isak will be next or not remains to be seen.
