RB Leipzig and Xavi Simons remain in limbo as they await a concrete offer from Chelsea, with the Bundesliga club already lining up Liverpool’s Harvey Elliott as a potential replacement.

The 22-year-old has been expected to leave this summer following RB Leipzig’s failure to qualify for European football next season.

Chelsea appear to be the most likely destination, with several reports suggesting Simons has already agreed personal terms with the Premier League side.

According to Bild, the German club are after a fee of €70 million for the Dutchman who joined permanently from PSG for €50m in January.

That asking price may well be a sticking point, with the report adding that Chelsea are yet to make an official offer for the playmaker.

RB Leipzig have already lined up Liverpool’s Harvey Elliott as a replacement for Simons should he leave the club.
