Juventus Eye Fresh Bid for Chelsea Defender Renato Veiga, But Serie A Club Must First Sell Ex-Newcastle Star

Juventus are reportedly preparing a new bid to sign Chelsea defender Renato Veiga, but their Serie A rivals must first offload former Newcastle player Lloyd Kelly first.

Kelly, 26, made the shock loan move to Juventus in January, with the Italian giants making in permanent for a reported fee of €14.5 million.

Juve are understood to be keen on offloading defender despite his recent arrival via obligation to buy in order to fund a move for Veiga, 22, according to TuttoSport.

The unwanted Chelsea defender also spent the second half of last season on loan at the club, impressing in his 15 games across all competitions.

Veiga doesn’t appear to have a future at Stamford Bridge after he was left out of the squad for their 2-0 pre-season friendly win over Bayer Leverkusen on Friday (August 8).
