Hojlund Urged to Battle Sesko for Man Utd Starting Role as Ex-Red Devils Star Backs 372m Striker

Rasmus Hojlund has been challenged to compete head-on with Benjamin Sesko for a starting role at Man United by former defender Mikael Silvestre.

Hojlund, 22, has failed to live up to the hype since making the move to Old Trafford from Atalanta back in 2023.

The striker scored just ten goals and provided two assists across 52 games as United endured their worst domestic season in decades.

Ruben Amorim’s side are now chasing Sesko, 22, but face some stiff competitions from Premier League rivals Newcastle for his signature.

Former defender Silvestre doesn’t want to see Hojlund leave, however, instead urging the Denmark international to take the challenge head on.

Speaking to Hajper, the Frenchman said: "Marcus Rashford has gone and there are not a lot of strikers around. Joshua Zirkzee is a different type of striker who doesn't make those runs in behind the defence.0

“He is another type of player for certain games, certain opposition. But no, you need competition, need quality, so I wouldn't rush into sending Rasmus Hojlund out on loan if Sesko signs. Absolutely not."
