Transfer news & rumours LIVE: Chelsea urged to beat Man Utd to Martinez signing

Newcastle up efforts to sign Sesko as possible Isak replacement

According to the Daily Mail, Newcastle are pushing ahead to sign Benjamin Sesko after being 'given encouragement' to sign the RB Leipzig striker. The report adds that the Slovenia international is Newcastle's top attacking target, with Eddie Howe's team keen to move quickly to agree terms with Leipzig over a deal.

Chelsea urged to beat Man Utd to Martinez signing

Former Chelsea and France star Emmanuel Petit has urged Chelsea to sign Manchester United target Emiliano Martinez from Aston Villa this summer.

Speaking to EscapistMagazine.com, Petit said: "Emiliano Martinez would be an inspiration in the Chelsea dressing room. I have criticised his behaviour in the past but he knows what it takes to win titles, he has that experience. He can inspire other players and he has all the qualities needed of a top goalkeeper. He would be a very good signing for Chelsea and 32 isn’t old for a goalkeeper. I think he’d link well with Enzo Maresca and the players already at the club. One fear I have is for Aston Villa, I am worried about them with top players leaving the club, I’m not sure where it will leave them next season."

Crystal Palace yet to receive 'firm offers' for Eze and Guehi

Crystal Palace are reportedly yet to receive any 'firm offers' for either Eberechi Eze and Marc Guehi amid links with Arsenal, Liverpool and more.

According to The Sun, the Palace duo could end up staying at Selhurst Park this season and the FA Cup holders are in 'no rush to sell' them, either. Liverpool, Newcastle United and Tottenham are said to want defender Guehi, while Arsenal remain interested in attacking midfielder Eze - but for now, they remain Eagles players.

Arsenal told to sign 'amazing' Eze as doubts cast on Martinelli

Ex-England star Micah Richards believes Eberechi Eze will be an "amazing" signing for Arsenal, while downplaying Gabriel Martinelli's importance.

He said on The Rest is Football podcast: "How many times have we said Arsenal need a new striker? We said it every week last season. They’ve needed one for a while now. I still believe they need a left winger as well…they’ve been linked with Eze haven’t they. I think Martinelli can definitely do a job but he’s more of an impact player right now, great to have off the bench, so if they could get Eze that would be amazing."

Arsenal in talks with Stuttgart over Vieira transfer

According to The Athletic, Arsenal are preparing to sell €40 million (£35m/$46m) transfer flop Fabio Vieira this summer as they initiate talks with Bundesliga side VFB Stuttgart. Veira spent the 2024-25 campaign on loan at his boyhood club FC Porto last season, but Stuttgart are pushing for a permanent transfer for the Gunners outcast, who has struggled for minutes under Mikel Arteta.

Chelsea star reveals shock transfer dream

Moises Caicedo has revealed that he would love to conclude his career in his homeland. The midfielder remains in his prime at Chelsea and has made 98 appearances since his £115 million ($146m) arrival from Brighton in 2023.

The midfielder told Radio Ritmo 98.5: "The future, nobody knows. If the opportunity is given and if God allows, I will return to my country, but if the opportunity arises to be in Liga (De Quito), I will do it without any problem."

Ex-England star finds new club in Thailand

Andros Townsend, a former England international with 13 caps, has completed a move to Thailand at the age of 34. The winger has joined the 16th club of a nomadic career, having previously played for the likes of Tottenham, Everton, and Crystal Palace. He left Antalyaspor in Turkey at the end of the 2024/25 season and has now made the move to the Far East, joining Kanchanaburi Power after their promotion to the Thai top-flight.

Sterling among NINE players omitted from Chelsea website

Raheem Sterling has been included in Chelsea's 'bomb squad' that consists of nine out-of-favour stars whom the Blues are looking forward to selling this summer. Sterling left for Arsenal on loan last summer but has now returned to Stamford Bridge after a disappointing spell at Emirates Stadium. The English winger has been linked to multiple clubs ahead of an expected exit.

Newcastle brutally told to sell Isak

Newcastle legend Alan Shearer has told Newcastle exactly what to do in the Alexander Isak saga: "Get him out".

Shearer told The Rest Is Football: "I'm not angry at all towards him. I understand how football works, I know what happens in and around the game. I probably understand his mentality. Do I like it? Do I understand it? Probably two different things. But I know what football is about and I know how it works, and obviously Liverpool have been into him or his agent. I just thought it might have happened next year and if it really is impossible for Eddie to turn him around and he says no, and it sounds like that is the case, I want him to be out now, you get your big money for him, whoever’s prepared to pay that and you get other people in, hopefully beforehand, and then you move on. As I said, no individual is bigger than any football club, and if he doesn’t want to be there, fine, get what you can and get him out and say thanks very much for the memories, off you go.”

Chelsea in talks to sell THREE unwanted midfielders

Chelsea are finalising deals to sell Ugochukwu to Burnley, Dewsbury-Hall to Everton and Chukwuemeka to Borussia Dortmund. The trio struggled for regular minutes last season and are no longer part of Enzo Maresca’s long-term plans. While the deals for the former two players are almost completed, as per Fabrizio Romano, Chukwuemeka's move may still take a few weeks.

Newcastle line up £40m move for PL ace

Newcastle are considering reigniting their interest in Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi amid a disastrous transfer window.

Newcastle have endured a dismal window thus far, missing out on multiple targets, including Yoane Wissa and James Trafford. The club are desperate to sign a new defender, but have met with frustration in their pursuit of Giorgio Scalvini, and are, as such, considering reigniting their interest in Guehi, for whom they saw three bids rejected last summer.

Napoli seal €18m agreement but Gutierrez yet to give green light

According to Corriere dello Sport, Napoli have struck an €18m (£15m/$20m) agreement with Girona for Miguel Gutierrez, but has not yet given the final go-ahead on the move. While Napoli have finalised terms with the Spanish club, the player’s consent remains a sticking point despite advanced negotiations.

Sesko tells BOTH Man Utd & Newcastle he wants to join them

According to the BILD, Manchester United are pushing to hijack Newcastle’s move for Benjamin Sesko, with both English clubs locked in a high-stakes transfer battle. The RB Leipzig striker has reportedly told both sides that he is open to joining them, adding fresh intrigue to one of the summer’s most tightly-contested sagas that looks set to be drawn out into the start of the Premier League season.

PSG set Beraldo asking price amid PL & Gala interest

Lucas Beraldo has told Paris Saint-Germain he wants to leave, but the Ligue 1 giants are refusing to sanction a move until strict conditions are met.

According to L’Equipe, PSG centre-back Beraldo has formally requested to leave the club during the ongoing transfer window. Beraldo, 21, arrived from Sao Paulo in January 2024 for €20 million (£17m/$23m) and has struggled for consistent starts, particularly after a poor showing in the Club World Cup final against Chelsea. PSG are not considering his departure unless two conditions are met: the signing of a new centre-back and a minimum €30m (£26m/$35m) transfer fee. Galatasaray are interested in signing him, while his agents have reached out to the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Bournemouth to gauge interest.

What next for Antony? Man Utd face being ground down by Betis

Manchester United face being ground down by Real Betis in Antony’s transfer saga, with the Spanish side willing to wait on a loan agreement.

Antony has no part to play in Ruben Amorim’s plans at Old Trafford, meaning that he is being left in limbo during pre-season. No formal bids have arrived for the 25-year-old, making it impossible for the Red Devils to generate the funds they crave. According to ABC Sevilla, Betis will look to use that situation to their advantage. They have made it clear that they want to take Antony on a season-long deal that includes no obligation to buy.

Arsenal rejected by Ligue 1 wonderkid Jacquet

Arsenal have been rejected by Stade Rennais defender Jeremy Jacquet, according to a new report in France.

Per Foot Mercato, Arsenal launched a bid to sign Jacquet from Stade Rennais this summer but were met with disappointment. The 20-year-old centre-back spent the second half of last season on loan at Clermont Foot in Ligue 2, and enjoyed a strong campaign to boot, and he has rejected the opportunity to move to England.

Son set for LAFC move after emotional Tottenham exit

Son Heung-min is set to join LAFC in a £13 million ($17m) move from Tottenham, bringing an emotional end to his 10-year stay in north London. The South Korean star said goodbye to Spurs fans in Seoul on Sunday and is now finalising paperwork with the Black and Gold before officially making the move to the Major League Soccer side.

Spurs approach for Barcelona star Casado revealed

Tottenham explored a move to sign Marc Casado from Barcelona this summer, as Chelsea and Atletico Madrid continue to explore a potential move.

Per Sport, Spurs were interested in signing Casado from Barcelona this summer. The club approached the Catalan side over a deal to secure the 21-year-old's signature, but Casado was not keen on making the move to north London. He has made a total of 41 first-team appearances for Barca.

Jashari told to pick between Leverkusen & Saudi despite AC Milan bid

Club Brugge have received offers from many top clubs for Ardon Jashari and will engage in talks this week regarding his future amid AC Milan interest.

Brugge representatives and Jashari's camp are set to meet this week to discuss the future of the Swiss midfielder. According to Calciomercato, the Belgian Pro League club have been contacted by Saudi Arabian side Neom, who are willing to splash €42 million (£36m/$48m) on Jashari. Bayer Leverkusen and Chelsea are also interested in the youngster and are said to have contacted the player personally to know his interest.

Maupay on the move again? Aubameyang & Weah arrivals force him out

After signing several attacking reinforcements this summer, Marseille are preparing to part ways with Neal Maupay to reduce their wage expenditure.

According to a report from L'Equipe, Marseille are finalising the signing of Timothy Weah from Juventus. The American international, who has 44 caps for the United States national team, is set to arrive on loan with an obligation to buy for around €15 million (€13m/$17m). This follows the earlier arrival of striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and pushes Maupay further down the pecking order. Maupay, who managed four goals and four assists in 22 appearances last season, has now been earmarked for sale as OM look to trim their bloated wage bill. The club are considering both loan and permanent transfer options due to limited interest from other clubs in a permanent move.
