Salah waves goobye to Diaz as he joins Bayern Munich: Keep making your people proud!
Luis Diaz completed a 365.5m move from Liverpool to Bayern Munich earlier this week and Mohamed Salah has sent a message waving goodbye.
The Premier League champions have spent nearly 3300m on Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez in what has been a busy summer transfer window for manager Arne Slot who hesitated when a bid came in for Diaz earlier this month.0
However, Bayern Munich bid of 365.5m was enough to tempt him to sell and now the Colombian will help the German side defend their Bundesliga title next season as he leaves Merseyside on good terms. 0
Salah has penned a touching farewell message to his former teammate along with a number of images of the pair who celebrated on so many occasions together whilst at the club.0
“Your energy, drive, and passion on the pitch have left a mark that won’t be forgotten.0
“We were truly lucky to have you at Liverpool, and it’s been an honour to share part of your journey and success story. As a teammate, you were more than reliable — you were inspiring.0
“As a friend, even more so. We all saw the strength it took to keep going through the tough times off the pitch. What you went through would’ve broken most, but you came back strong and gave everything for the club.0
“That kind of resilience sets an example for others and earns nothing but respect. Wishing you all the best for what’s next, Lucho.”0
He ended his message with “Siga haciendo orgullosa a su gente,” which translates to “Keep making your people proud”, alongside an emoji of a Colombia flag as a mark of respect.0
Diaz joined in January 2022 and played 148 times for Liverpool, scoring 41 times and winning four major trophies while also reaching the final of the Champions League in 2022. Liverpool will now look to replace the winger before they begin their season against Bournemouth on Friday the 15th.0
