Liverpool to "hijack" Arsenal's deal for Salford wonderkid despite deal being agreed
Arsenal agreed a deal to sign Salford City forward Will Wright last week but Liverpool are set to hijack the move as they draw him away from North London.
The 17-year-old is currently set to move to North London for a fee of 3200k plus add-ons with Salford co-owner Gary Neville and his side and have been in discussions with the player over personal terms. However, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the deal could be in jeopardy as the Reds are set to make their move once more.0
“Liverpool hopeful to complete hijack for 17 year old striker Will Wright after Arsenal verbally agreed deal two weeks ago.0
“Salford City accepted #LFC bid as well as @daveockop reported, Liverpool now proceeding with formal steps on player side to get it signed asap.”0
The 6 foot 3 forward has also been the subject of checks from Arsenal, Brentford, Leicester and Manchester City and after scoring more than 50 goals for the Ammies at all levels last season it is clear why so many sides are chasing his signature.0
Will Wright is a product of Academy 92 which is the youth development program at Salford City, inspired by the famous “Class of 92” at Manchester United. Reports state that Neville would not be happy to see Wright leave to Liverpool given his rivalry with the side which may play in the favour of Arsenal who need to wrap the deal up quick before the youngster changes his mind.0
