Wissa's protest fails as he is expected to return to Brentford training this week

Yoane Wissa is expected to return to Brentford training this week despite trying to force a move away from the club.

Wissa left the club’s pre-season training camp in Portugal last Tuesday after a bid from Newcastle United’s 325M was rejected by the club who seem certain that the DR Congo international will stay with the side heading into the new season.0

As reported by The Standard, the 28-year-old striker, who scored 19 Premier League goals last season, will train with the rest of the squad and the Bees are preparing for him to be part of the team for the start of the new Premier League campaign and their first game against Nottingham Forest.0

Following Bryan Mbeumo’s 371M departure to Manchester United, a deal for Wissa has become almost impossible for Brentford to consider for new manager Keith Andrews who replaced Thomas Frank this summer. Brentford's all-time Premier League goalscorer has one year remaining on his contract, and a deal does not look it is going to happen anytime soon.0

According to Sky Sports Germany, Newcastle have entered into talks with Benjamin Sesko's agent about a move for the RB Leipzig striker which all but confirms that Wissa will not be making his way to Tyneside next season to complete his dream of playing in the Champions League.0
