Man City sign Sheffield Wednesday wonderkid Cadamarteri: It's time to start a new chapter

Manchester City have signed 15-year-old Sheffield Wednesday academy striker Caelan Cadamarteri as they look towards the future.

The teenager moves to the Etihad Stadium for an undisclosed fee after scoring 24 goals for the Owls' U18s last season. Now, after almost a decade at Middlewood Road, the 15-year-old has thanked the Owls for their part in his journey which now takes him to manager Pep Guardiola to continue his development.0

Taking to Instagram, Cadamarteri said, “After an unforgettable journey at this amazing club, with amazing sets of players who have come and gone throughout the years, it's my time to start a new chapter.0

“I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the players and the staff for the experience and memories over the past eight years that will last a lifetime, and ultimately helping me to become the player I am today. I wish everyone at the club all the best for the future.”0

Wednesday confirmed his departure and wished him all the best at the Premier League side where he could become a first team member in years to come.0

The Owls are under a transfer embargo for failing to pay money owed to other clubs which made it hard for them to hang on to assets such as Cadamarteri who follows Anthony Musaba and Djeidi Gassma on the way out of the Championship side.
