Chidozie Awaziem signs with Ligue 1 Club FC Nantes

Chidozie Awaziem has completed a move to Ligue 1 side FC Nantes, signing a three-year deal from MLS club Colorado Rapids.

The 28-year-old, who only joined the Rapids from FC Cincinnati last December, returns to familiar ground, having spent the 2018/19 season on loan at Nantes from FC Porto.

There, the Nigeria international scored once in 23 appearances. He expressed his ambition to help the club win silverware this time around.

“When the opportunity presented itself, I didn’t hesitate for a single second to come back, because for me, Nantes is like home,” he told Nantes website.

“The people are lovely, the club is great, and I was really looking forward to returning to this environment.

“From a sporting perspective, I want to do everything I can to help the Club achieve its goals, win trophies, compete at the highest level against the best teams and bring FC Nantes back to the top.”
