Atletico Madrid have stepped up their efforts to sign Renato Veiga from Chelsea this summer as the Blues seek a profit.

It cost the Blues just 312m to sign Renato Veiga a year ago and now the West London side are hoping to make nearly triple that fee as La Liga giants Atetico make their move for the 21 year old who is desperate for regular game time.0

The Portugal international had been given plenty of chances to feature in his first six months under manager Enzo Maresca but the Italian tactician has not been impressed with his limited performances and therefore has deemed him surplus to requirements.0

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich are each monitoring the situation with Veiga who wants a move to the Spanish side who can offer him a solid spot in the first team.0

“Atl9tico Madrid and Chelsea start club to club talks today for Renato Veiga.0

“Renato said yes to Atl9ti and first bid will follow while Chelsea will insist on €40m package.”0

Veiga is one of the players Cheslea consider a priority sale this summer as they seek to meet financial rules which are weighing heavily on them over the past few months. The club must sell unwanted assets who are unlikely to make any appearances next season to comply with said rules or they will face more fines and maybe point deductions.0
