Barcelona End Dumfries Pursuit as Focus Shifts to Keeping Man City Target Jules Kounde

Barcelona have decided to end their interest in Inter defender Denzel Dumfries, with the club now fully focused on fending off Manchester City’s pursuit of Jules Kounde.

According to Calciomercato, super-agent Jorge Mendes offered the 29-year-old to Barcelona this summer with previous reports revealing he had a €25 million release clause in his Inter Milan contract.

Barcelona were understood to be keen on making the move but have since pulled out, instead prioritising a new contract for Kounde, 26.

Pep Guardiola is said to be keen on bringing the France international to the Premier League as he continues to search for a replacement for Kyle Walker.

Dumfries played a key role for Inter last season, scoring 11 goals and providing five assists in his 47 games across all competitions as they reached the Champions League final.
