Transfer news & rumours LIVE: Liverpool closing in on blockbuster Hugo Ekitike deal as Reds offer €90m for Eintracht Frankfurt star

Two more names on Wrexham's radar as summer spending continues

Wrexham have been linked with two more transfer targets, as Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney's side prepare for life in the Championship.

The Red Dragons have expressed a serious interest in Bolton Wanderers' captain George Thomason. Local outlet The Bolton News reports The Trotters have even accepted a £1.2m bid for the 24-year-old midfielder. Meanwhile, Lewis O'Brien has been a long-time transfer target of Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson, according to The Athletic. The Nottingham Forest midfielder spent the second half of last season in the Championship, making 16 appearances for Swansea on loan.

Why Liverpool have become favourites for Wharton transfer

Adam Wharton has reportedly decided to stay at Crystal Palace for one more season, possibly opening the door for a future move to Liverpool.

Palace will be desperate to hold onto their star midfielder, as rumours linking Marc Guehi to Liverpool and Eberechi Eze to Arsenal continue to spread. The 21-year-old is happy at Selhurst Park, with The Sun reporting that he is leaning towards staying with the Eagles for one more season.

Real Madrid ready to terminate contract of €30m flop

Real Madrid are reportedly considering terminating the contract of Reinier Jesus, a €30 million signing from 2020, who has not made a single first-team appearance in five years. With no club currently willing to buy him and no role in the squad, the Brazilian midfielder may be released early to find a new opportunity elsewhere before his deal runs out in 2026.

Reinier joined Real Madrid in January 2020 from Flamengo but has never featured in an official match for the senior team. He has instead gone out on four loan spells - to Borussia Dortmund, Girona, Frosinone and Granada - without making a strong impression. With his contract running until 2026 and no suitors in sight, Madrid are now ready to cut ties altogether, as per Spanish publication AS.

Howe annoyed by Newcastle's transfer business

Speaking to the media, Howe said: "My wish was for us to do our business early, and we certainly tried, but it wasn't to be. We've had a frustrating time in terms of losing targets to other clubs. I'd be very open with that.

"That's happened on several occasions. You just have to accept it. In order for a transfer to really work, in my opinion, the player has to be desperate to come to your club. If we don't get that, the transfer doesn't work.

"We're seeking players that are good enough, that are desperate to come, and that can make the difference, that they're in short supply for us. "We're confident that we can try and get some more players in to strengthen the depth of the squad. We're certainly aware that we need to, and we're trying as hard as we can to do that."

Wrexham agree personal terms with Windass

Wrexham have agreed personal terms with free agent Josh Windass, with the former Sheffield Wednesday striker pencilled in for a medical on Monday.

GiveMeSport reports that Windass and the Red Dragons have held remote talks over the past 72 hours, as manager Phil Parkinson is in Australia and New Zealand for the club's pre-season tour. The 31-year-old is unattached after Sheffield United agreed to terminate his contract in light of their financial struggles.

Wrexham have £10m for striker signing

Journalist Alan Nixon has claimed Wrexham have decided to put £10m (€13.4m/$11.5m) aside for a new striker this summer. The Welsh side have just set a new club record transfer fee with the arrival of New Zealand international Liberato Cacace but are thought to have green-lit another move which will blow that reported £2.16 million (€2.5m/$3m) fee out of the water.

Man Utd failed to land Inter wonderkid Esposito

According to Fichajes, Atletico Madrid are "working on the numbers" for a deal for Marseille forward Greenwood. The 23-year-old signed a five-year deal with the Ligue 1 side last year but has been linked with a summer exit after a successful season where he scored 22 goals in 36 appearances in all competitions.

According to AS, a five-year deal for Vinicius worth €1 billion (£866.7m/$1.1bn) has been taken off the table for now, though the interest could pick up again in the future. It's believed negotiations between the winger and Real Madrid will resume in 2026, with Vinicius previously declaring he intends to stay at the club to further cement his legacy at the Bernabeu.
