Paul Pogba and Ansu Fati were left out of the matchday squad for Monaco’s recent pre-season clash with Nottingham Forest.

Despite anticipation surrounding their potential debuts, neither featured as the club continued its preparations for the upcoming season.

Adi Hutter had already suggested last week that the duo were struggling to reach peak fitness due to a lack of recent competitive action.

The manager has called for patience, emphasising that both players will be gradually integrated into the squad when the time is right, rather than being rushed back.

Monaco still have two pre-season friendlies left before beginning their Ligue 1 campaign. They’re set to face Arminia Bielefeld on July 26, followed by a matchup against Ajax on August 3.0
