Noni Madueke waves goodbye to Chelsea: I leave here with nothing but fond memories

Noni Madueke confirms he’s set to leave Chelsea and join Arsenal this summer as he posts a goodbye message to fans.

Arsenal have been on the verge of completing a deal to sign Noni Madueke from Chelsea for a number of days but now the England international has confirmed that he will be making the short journey from West London to North London.0

Since joining just two-and-a-half years ago, his return of 20 goals and nine assists in 90 appearances has clearly not been enough to convince manager Enzo Maresca that he cannot be sold this summer and when a deal came in there was no hesitation to let him leave.0

The 23-year-old’s departure won’t hurt the club, especially after the arrivals of Liam Delap. Joao Pedro and Jamie Gittens this summer but it may frustrate some as he makes his way to a fierce London rival just a few miles away. 0

Madueke wrote a message to the club, Maresca and fans as he thanks them for their praise and criticism on Instagram.0

“I want to thank you for the last 3 or so years. To every staff member that helped me along this journey, thank you. To my teammates thank you for everything, I leave with only love and admiration for you guys.0

“We achieved so much this season and I honestly wish you guys nothing but the best. To Enzo Maresca, it was a privilege to play under you, thank you for trying to better me as a player and as a person. 0

“Lastly thank you to every single Chelsea fan. Thank you for the love, the praise and also the criticism, I appreciate it all. I leave here with nothing but fond memories.”0

Madueke will sign a five-year contract at the Emirates Stadium having already completed the formalities of the deal which is said to be worth around 352M. He is one of many players to make the 0Willian, David Luiz and Jorginho who have had mixed results.0
