Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson has reportedly been shortlisted by Manchester United as a potential striker option.

Jackson has scored 30 goals in 80 appearances for Chelsea following his 331.8m move from Villarreal in 2023. However, since the arrival of Liam Delap, Jamie Gittens and Joao Pedro his position in the side is in jeopardy and reports suggest that he will be leaving this summer to find a new club.0

The 24-year-old was replaced by Delap during the first game of the Club World cup and he has not started a game since under manager Enzo Maresca who will likely cash in on the forward if a suitable deal comes in. Now, as reported by Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenburg he is being considered by Manchester United.0

“Understand Nicolas #Jackson is on the shortlist for Manchester United, as the club are looking to bring in a new striker. Nothing advanced yet and there are more options, but #MUFC are closely monitoring Jackson’s situation.0

“The 24 y/o versatile striker could leave Chelsea if a suitable offer arrives. Many enquiries have been made. His contract runs until 2033.”0

Sky in Italy say Juventus and Napoli want to sign Jackson, meanwhile, many reports have linked the Senegal international to Arsenal who are still in talks with Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres. Jackson was also sent off against Flamengo and is suspended for the opening match of the Premier League season for his red against Newcastle in a spell of reckless behaviour that could signal his frustration towards slowly being pushed out of the side.0

Speaking on the The Rest Is Football podcast, former Newcastle United striker Alan Shearer suggested that Jackson could leave in the coming month as both Arsenal and United watch closely.0

“I don’t know, am I playing devil’s advocate here in thinking Jackson may be the one?0

“That wouldn’t surprise me if he was sold to someone, whether in our country or not, that’s one that wouldn’t surprise me if they made that decision.0

“They’ve got some serious options in every forward position.”0
