Man Utd make late attempt to trump Roma for Palmeiras star

Manchester United are threatening AS Roma plans for Palmeiras midfielder Richard Rios.

The Brazil international is subject of major interest from the Giallorossi - and is said to be keen on moving to Rome.

TMW says last night, Roma chief Ricky Massara informed Palmeiras they plan to meet their €30m demands.

Roma are ready to make an easily achievable offer of €28m plus €2m in bonuses. The initial offer, €25m plus €5m, was rejected.

For his part, Rios has already approved the move. He has received a package from Roma of a five-year contract worth €2m-a-season.

However, United are making a late bid to trump Roma, with an offer of 330m planned. But for the moment, Rios favours the Roma option.
