Liverpool target Brentford ace as Alexander Isak alternative

Liverpool are reportedly weighing up for a move for Brentford striker Yoane Wissa with a deal for Newcastle's Alexander Isak looking unlikely.

Arne Slot’s side reportedly enquired about Isak’s availability earlier in the week but were immediately turned down by Newcastle, who have no intention to sell their star striker.

According to the Daily Mail, Liverpool remain keen on adding to their already impressive attacking line-up and view Wissa, 28, as a much more realistic target.

Wissa enjoyed the most prolific season of his career in 2024-25, scoring 20 goals and providing four assists in his 39 games across all competitions.

Liverpool’s move won’t be straight forward, however, Thomas Frank is understood to be keen on reuniting the Wissa at Tottenham this summer.
