Manchester United are weighing up a move for Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson in a bid to address their misfiring forward line.
WHAT HAPPENED?
According to The Times, United are keeping an eye on Jackson's situation at Chelsea. The Senegal striker has seen two new faces arrive as competition for the striker role at Stamford Bridge and is said to be considering his future at the club. It is thought the Blues could consider cashing in on him if the right offer arrives this summer, with the Red Devils one interested party alongside the likes of AC Milan and Aston Villa.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Jackson has been Chelsea's starting striker for the past two seasons, returning 30 goals in 81 appearances in all competitions, but that hasn't stopped the west London side recruiting Liam Delap from Ipswich and Joao Pedro from Brighton to increase the options at Enzo Maresca's disposal. United, meanwhile, have struggled with Rasmus Hojlund up front, while Joshua Zirkzee ended his debut season with only seven goals in 49 matches.
DID YOU KNOW?
Chelsea are thought to value Jackson at around £100 million (€115.3 million/$133.8 million) and it'll be interesting to see if United decide to make an official approach at that price given how drawn-out the saga to sign Bryan Mbeumo has proved to be. Negotiations with Brentford are said to have reached a 'stand-off' with the Bees demanding more than what United gave Wolves for Matheus Cunha.

WHAT NEXT FOR JACKSON?
Jackson only made three appearances during Chelsea's Club World Cup triumph, being sent off against Flamengo before he was berated by Cole Palmer for shooting instead of passing during the semi-final victory over Fluminense. If he were to stay with the Blues, he'll have to battle both Delap and Pedro for a starting stop under Maresca.
