Brazilian football icon Neymar Jr. has turned heads in Santos training, not just for his presence on the field, but after unveiling a striking new hairstyle that had fans buzzing online. Off the pitch, Neymar is celebrating the birth of his fourth child, daughter Mel, who arrived on July 5.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Neymar sported a series of tightly braided cornrows, woven with silver accents and intricate patterns that extended across the top of his scalp and flowed to the back of his head. The detail in Neymar’s braids featured a parting style and beadwork that added a reflective shine under the Brazilian sun.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Mel’s arrival brings the Brazilian star’s family count to four. Neymar’s eldest child, son Davi Lucca, was born in 2011 to ex-girlfriend Carolina Dantas. Mavie, his daughter with girlfriend Bruna Biancardi, has now taken on the role of big sister, while Neymar also shares another daughter, also named Mavie, with Amanda Kimberlly.

DID YOU KNOW?

While injuries have limited his time on the pitch, Neymar continues to be Santos' marquee player on the roster. He has already extended his contract through to the end of 2025 as the former Barcelona star aims to guide his boyhood club to a respectable finish. They are currently languishing in 15th position with just 11 points from 12 matches.

WHAT NEXT FOR NEYMAR?

Now splitting his time between fatherhood and football, Neymar appears to be entering a new phase of life with greater maturity and focus. He hasn’t hidden his ambition to wear the iconic yellow shirt at the 2026 World Cup and the forward will do all it takes to impress Carlo Ancelotti in the next 12 months.
