Galatasaray A.S. v Tottenham Hotspur - UEFA Europa League 2024/25 League Phase MD4
Galatasaray are trying to re-sign Victor Osimhen on a permanent transfer following the success of his loan last season.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Gala have started the process to bring Osimhen back to Istanbul after he scored 37 goals across all competitions in 2024-25, presenting a €55 million ($64m) offer to Napoli, according to Fabrizio Romano. Only €5m ($5.9m) of that amount isn't guaranteed, but Napoli still "want more".

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Romano adds that Osimhen is "keen" on that move, but completion will ultimately hinge on the clubs reaching an agreement. In contrast, Saudi Arabia's Al-Hilal are willing to pay the required €75m ($88m) release clause, but crucially don't have an agreement wi the player himself.
DID YOU KNOW?
Osimhen's contract at Napoli, signed last September, has already entered its final year. Hypothetically, he could become a free agent next summer and have complete control over his future.

WHAT NEXT FOR OSIMHEN?
Osimhen has no place back at Napoli, where he has been replaced by Antonio Conte favourite Romelu Lukaku. If the Nigerian is dead set on joining Galatasaray and no one else, the Serie A champions may have to consider compromising on their asking price in order to offload him this summer and avoid a situation where he can move on next year without bringing any money back into the club. England's biggest sides have generally steered clear of Osimhen, despite his availability and goal record.
