The 23-year-old Sweden international, who starred in all 38 Premier League games last season, will sign a five-year contract and is set to undergo a medical ahead of his move to St James’ Park later this week.

Newcastle and Nottingham Forest have agreed a deal worth £52 million plus bonuses for winger Elanga, as per Fabrizio Romano. The Athletic have added that the former Manchester United has has accepted personal terms and will sign a five-year contract after completing his medical in the coming days. The Magpies had a previous offer rejected but returned with an improved package that has now sealed the transfer.

Elanga’s move follows a standout 2024-25 campaign in which he contributed 17 goal involvements and played every Premier League game for Forest. His performances helped the club secure a seventh-place finish and qualification for the Europa Conference League. Manchester United are also set to receive a significant cut through a sell-on clause they had included in the Swede's sale.
