Alisha Lehmann has opened up on her love life and offered a ‘simple’ message about romance.

The Swiss sensation will be playing on home soil as Switzerland host Euro 2025, and get their campaign underway on Wednesday night. As one of the most famous faces in women’s football, plenty of eyes will be on Lehmann.

With 16.7million followers on Instagram, the 26-year-old is the most followed female footballer on social media. And her fame has seen plenty of intrigue into her personal life, which she has openly shared with her fans.

Lehmann dated former Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz after the couple rekindled their love in 2024. They first began dating back in 2021 before splitting a year later, but it was reported in May that the two had broken up again.

However, before her relationship with Luiz, Lehmann dated international team-mate and former Chelsea player Ramona Bachmann.

In an interview with Marca, Lehmann reflected on her relationship with Bachmann and gave a 'simple' answer about the situation.

“It's 2025. I think everyone can date whoever they want and be with whoever they want,” she said.

“It's important to open your mind and stop seeing this as a problem and instead see it as progress. Be who you are and who you want to be. Love is love. It's simple”

After Lehmann and Luiz rekindled their love at Aston Villa, the couple secured a move to Juventus last summer in the first-ever boyfriend-girlfriend football transfer.

“I don't know who convinced whom, it just happened,” Lehmann said on their move. However, the couple's move to Italy hasn’t gone according to plan.

The Brazilian midfielder was linked with a January exit and started just three Serie A games. Luiz has reportedly been told by Juventus that he is free to leave and find a new club after failing to impress in Turin. Reportedly leading to their split as their careers appear set to take different paths.

Meanwhile, Lehmann has been thrown a lifeline as she was called up to Switzerland’s Euro 2025 squad late following an injury to Alena Bienz, having not won a cap in the previous five months after falling out of favour at Juventus.

Switzerland and Lehmann get their campaign underway tonight as they play Norway. The game comes just days after the team were beaten 7-1 by Luzern U15s.
