Barcelona look set to launch a move for FC Copenhagen star Roony Bardghji, as other clubs monitor the young Swedish talent closely.

WHAT HAPPENED?

According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Barca have made direct contact with Bardghji's representatives ahead of a potential transfer swoop. Porto reportedly submitted a bid for the young Swede a fortnight ago, but the Liga champions are also keen on the teenager.

Having burst onto the scene in 2021, becoming Copenhagen's youngest-ever player at the age of 16, Bardghji has been a consistent performer both domestically and in the Champions League. In Europe, he has led his team to some famous victories, including a 4-3 comeback win against Manchester United in 2023.

WHAT NEXT FOR BARDGHJI?

Bardghji's current Copenhagen contract runs out in December 2025, and he has supposedly told the club he will not be penning a new deal. As a result, suitors could choose to wait it out and snap him up for no fee in January. However, Barcelona — who, as ever, are currently negotiating numerous incomings and outgoings — seem keen to get the deal done over the summer if possible.
