Manchester United have confirmed their 32-man squad for their post-season tour to Asia. And there is a place for Alejandro Garnacho, despite the fact he has been tipped to exit the club this summer.
Garnacho was left out of the starting line-up for the Europa League final on Wednesday evening as United went head-to-head with Tottenham in Bilbao. He came on for the final 20 minutes but then lashed out at his employers during a post-match interview as he described the Red Devils’ season as “s***”. He was omitted from the matchday squad for United’s final Premier League showdown of the campaign against Aston Villa on Sunday and has reportedly been told by manager Ruben Amorim to find a new club this summer.
Amorim was asked by TNT Sports ahead of his team’s clash with Villa whether fans had seen the last of Garnacho in a United shirt.
The Portuguese boss replied: “No, Garnacho is a Manchester United player who is not in the squad today, but he continues to be a Manchester United player.”
Amorim was then asked if the Argentine winger would be included in United’s squad for their post-season tour. And he explained: “Everybody’s going because we have to go to meet our fans and to give something to our fans on the other side of the world.”

Amorim has stayed true to his word by selecting Garnacho alongside the likes of Andre Onana, Luke Shaw and Joshua Zirkzee, who also missed Sunday’s 2-0 victory against the Villans.
There is also a place for Jonny Evans, despite the fact he is leaving the club this summer. And 39-year-old goalkeeper Tom Heaton will also travel with the squad, despite the fact he never made a first-team appearance during the 2024/25 season.
Meanwhile, Noussair Mazraoui, Lisandro Martinez and Yoro miss out through injury, while there is no place for either Victor Lindelof and Christian Eriksen, with the duo set to depart Old Trafford in the coming weeks.
United, who listed their full tour squad on their website, endured their worst Premier League season ever after losing 18 matches and picking up just 42 points.
They started the final afternoon of the season in 16th position but climbed to 15th by the end of the day after defeating Aston Villa at Old Trafford. The result meant Amorim’s side finished the campaign with 11 league wins.
The Red Devils squad will travel to Kuala Lumpur for a showdown with an ASEAN All-Stars side on Wednesday in their first tour match, before going head-to-head with Hong Kong in the special administrative region of China on Friday.
