Manchester United are confident Bruno Fernandes will snub offers from Saudi Arabia this summer to remain at Old Trafford.
United captain Fernandes has become a leading target of a host of Saudi clubs. Al-Hilal are leading the race to sign Fernandes, having seen previous target Mo Salah sign a new deal with Liverpool.
Al-Hilal bosses want to make Fernandes their new marquee signing, having missed out on Salah. And the mega-rich outfit could be willing to offer the Portuguese international a deal worth up to £750,000-a-week.
United are willing to sell a host of star names this summer, in a bid to meet financial regulations and give Ruben Amorim funds to strengthen his squad. But Fernandes is one of the few players club bosses are not willing to let go.
And United bosses believe the 30-year-old will reject any offers from the Pro-League, in favour of remaining at Old Trafford.
It's understood Fernandes turned down some Saudi clubs last summer, and United are not worried he will have a change of heart. Fernandes is considered integral to Amorim's future plans, as he looks to turn United into a major force once again.
The midfielder, who has been voted the club's 'Player of the Year' the last three seasons, signed a contract extension in 2024 that keeps him at Old Trafford until 2027.
He has made it clear he and his family are settled in Manchester. And United believe he considers himself too young and ambitious to decide to cash-in on a move to Saudi.
Last month Amorim rejected the possibility of his captain leaving the club at the end of the season amid links with Real Madrid. He said: "No, it's not going to happen. He's not going anywhere because I've already told him!
"I want Bruno here because we want to win the Premier League again, so we want the best players to continue with us. He's 30, but he's still so young, because he plays 55 games every season. Between assists and goals, he's there for 30 at least, so he's the type of player we want here and he's not going anywhere."
