Paul Warne keen to make big changes at MK Dons this summer

MK Dons boss Paul Warne is looking forward to ringing the changes in the summer after voicing frustration with his shot-shy team.
The former Derby boss, who took over the Buckinghamshire side in mid-April, saw his side end the campaign with a 0-0 draw at Swindon.
The Dons have scored just one goal in their last seven games as they finished 19th.
“We need some pace and power,” Warne said.
“And I’ve been saying that from day dot.
“Today we were set up really well, and on the counter, on quick transitions, we’d have got in, but we just came up short.”
The Dons mustered just five shots in a game lacking a single clear chance from either side.
And Warne hinted he had a busy summer ahead to rebuild the side.
He added: “We’ve got a few problems here. You finish 19th in the league, you finish there for a reason.
“So there’s certain things that we need to address. There are certain player-types this team needs.”
But he admitted that with every club running their own database, they were all chasing the same players.
He added: “If I said to you now, ‘the three players that I’m desperate to sign, I’m going to meet on Tuesday’, every other club in England wants the same three.
“That’s the honest truth. So we can only do so much.
“The better players help you win games. As simple as that.
“We’re not that good as coaches that we can go down and pick a dumpling at McDonald’s and go, ‘Look mate, do you mind running in behind and bending a few 30 yarders in?’
“We have to get the raw materials from the players that we try and recruit this summer.”
Ian Holloway turned Swindon’s season from a relegation fight to a belated play-off push after taking over in late October.
They ended the season in 12th, eight points adrift of the play-offs, after losing just two of their last 14 matches.
But Holloway said: “I feel like I’ve failed, and that’s how I am.
“I always had a picture of where I wanted us to be, and it certainly wasn’t here.”
And he warned fans they might have seen the last of some of their favourite stars.
He added: “You’ve all got your own opinion on people, but I see them day in, day out. So there ought to be a bit of trust.”
