Linda Pizzuti, the wife of Liverpool principal owner John Henry, has set tongues wagging after posting cryptic comments about Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The Reds vice-captain and homegrown superstar is out of contract this summer and is expected to move on and join Real Madrid on a free transfer. However, despite confidence in Spain regarding the transfer, it appears the 26-year-old's future is not set in stone just yet.

The right-back has refused to comment on his future throughout the season and did not conduct any interview after Liverpool's 5-1 thrashing of Tottenham Hotspur clinched the Premier League title. Meanwhile, he previously sidestepped questions about his future after scoring the winner off the bench against Leicester City which left the Reds on the cusp of the title.

After Liverpool clinched the title against Spurs, Alexander-Arnold was pictured talking to Fenway Sports Group boss Henry, 75, on the pitch at Anfield. An expert lipreader has suggested the pair were locked in conversation about his uncertain future.

The image was later one of 10 that Pizzuti, 46, posted on Instagram, alongside the caption: "Pitch celebration on winning the Premier League with supporters, at Anfield.

"A magical moment of connection, community, hopes, and pure joy. After more than 14 years with the club, this was truly a dream come true. Thank you, Liverpool".

Unsurprisingly, her use of the picture of Alexander-Arnold did not go unnoticed with supporters, as a number of them questioned why she posted the image.

"Just throwing in that Trent photo" one supporter wrote, as another posted: "Just a photo with three players, Mo, Virgil and... Trent?"

Pizzuti would then set tongues wagging by replying to both supporters with an eyes emoji, creating only further questions as Liverpool fanbase wondered if Alexander-Arnold could sign a new contract with his boyhood club after all.

And when one supported pointed out she had 'created madness on X' with her use of the eyes emoji, she responded with a monkey covering its mouth with its hands emoji.

But it was not just comments about the Reds vice-captain that Pizzuti replied to - she also had a blunt response for supporters as they questioned FSG's summer transfer plans.

"But how much we spending in the summer?" one supporter asked. Pizzuti replied, "Seriously? Let's just enjoy this special achievement now."

She then said: "Let's just enjoy this moment right now. This is what we worked for", in response to a fan posting: "Hopefully you'll spend big this year. Squad needs depth."

Further comments saw fans say "New players please" and "Please back the team in the summer and spend on bringing in top players".

Pizzuti replied: "Let's enjoy achieving what we set out to do first" and "Let's enjoy this moment".

Meanwhile, Pizzuti would also hit back at one supporter who criticised FSG after they commented: "Jurgen Klopp and the power of this magical club brought success IN SPITE of FSG, not because of them."

Pizzuti replied: "You are welcome to be grumpy, I choose to enjoy".

Elsewhere, she also took time to thank one supporter after they paid tribute to FSG despite their investment in players.

"I know we often criticise you for not investing enough in players, but we can't deny the positive impact FSG has made since taking over the club. I wouldn't want any other owners," the fan in question wrote.

She replied: "I appreciate that! Thank you."

Pizzuti had previously made headlines after appearing behind a bar at Anfield and serving drinks ahead of kick-off.

After one supporter thanked her for 'the beer in the main stand', she replied: "My pleasure! Great meeting you, that was really fun. Thanks for your patience as I figured out the systems there."
