Wrexham achieved a historic third successive promotion and celebrations involving the players, fans and owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney continued long into the night

No sooner had the final whistle blown after Wrexham's emphatic 3-0 victory over Charlton on Saturday than the celebrations truly began.
Fans flooded the pitch and held players aloft while Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney watched on from the owners' boxes in astonishment as their club recorded an incredible third successive promotion from League One to the Championship.
Manager Phil Parkinson kissed his medal and the Hollywood duo soon took to the pitch themselves, letting loose by showering chief executive Michael Williamson in red Gatorade in a nod to a Super Bowl tradition.
The partying for the team and coaching staff started in earnest inside the changing rooms as midfielder Ollie Rathbone, who opened the scoring against Charlton, danced on a table.
Proceedings then switched to the function rooms inside the Racecourse Ground, where the players were joined by their families and the owners. Plenty of Wrexham Lager was consumed after the brand was bought by Reynolds and McElhenney last autumn.
Meanwhile, fans got things going on the city's High Street as local off licences did a roaring trade and red flare smoke filled the night sky.
Chants of "Back to back to back, ole ole" then broke out as one supporter scaled a lamppost and others stood in the windows of the Midland pub, with a handful of police officers watching on nervously.
The revelry was all good natured, though, and the players soon moved from the stadium to the packed bars and pubs around the city to join them. Most of the team was seen in the Ironworks bar.
That's where striker Ollie Palmer turned his hand to bartending as he served pints to thirsty fans and everyone partied late into the night. Elsewhere, the lyrics of karaoke songs were being adapted in the Golden Lion pub to hail the promotion heroes.
Palmer also popped up on instagram at 4am in his own inimitable style - complete with shades and Wrexham Lager bucket hat.
Defender Max Cleworth and wing-back Ryan Barnett were spotted looking worse for wear in McDonald's during the small hours of Sunday. The pair were just about well enough to attend the EFL Awards later that day to collect their awards after being named in the League One Team of the Season.
Wrexham's community director Humphrey Ker must have been regretting his decision to run the Manchester Marathon the next day, but persevered admirably and managed to raise huge sums for the Wrexham Miner's Project charity.
He was greeted at the finish line by McElhenney, who admitted he had a "bit of a headache" following the previous night's antics. As is now traditional, the Wrexham players regrouped on Sunday afternoon for a meal.
And, of course, there were even more drinks flowing at the Fat Boar restaurant. There were some X-rated chants, a topless George Dobson, and even rumours that one of the team's stars ended up in A&E after cutting his hand on some glass.
Star striker Paul Mullin opted to celebrate elsewhere with family as a video was shared on social media of him singing Jamie Webster's 'Weekend in Paradise' in a karaoke bar in his hometown of Liverpool. He'd gone over to watch his beloved Liverpool lift the title and missed out on the Far Boar celebrations.
There are question marks over his future at the club after he was used sparingly in League One this season. Thoughts of what comes next are on hold just for now, though, as a city and its football club revels in the moment of reaching the second tier for the first time since 1982.
And didn't they do it in style. Reynolds perhaps best summed up the scenes in a post on Instagram.
He wrote: "Somebody said the Welsh have the 'heart of a poet and the fist of a fighter.' That's what I love about this place. I wish the whole world could visit Wrexham. Diolch."
