CRISTIANO RONALDO's business empire has seen him amass a net worth of £600million - but not every venture has been a success.

CR7's money-making tentacles have expanded beyond football to fashion, hotels, real estate, hair clinics and restaurants.

But not every idea has generated more cash to go with the £173m he currently pockets per year at Al-Nassr.

One of Ronaldo's failed business moves was his fashion stores that opened across his homeland of Portugal.

The CR7 shops sold everything from football boots and shirts to fitness equipment and signed memorabilia.

On his home island of Funchal, his store was ran by his elder sister Elma until it shut down in 2022.

Outlets in Lisbon, the Algarve and Madeira all closed down a few years earlier.

Reports at the time said plenty of fans would enter to browse but it did not turn into sales.

Elma, who hinted the decision to axe the Funchal shop was down to her busy schedule, took to social media to post snaps of the empty shelves.

She said: "Big projects in progress, a lot of time, energy and family love invested.

"As there’s not enough time for everything and life is made up of stages, I decided to close a chapter of my life after 15 years.

“It wasn’t an easy decision because it was here that my area started along with many memories and moments that will be marked forever on a page that I will keep in my heart.
