Maidenhead boost bid to avoid relegation with win over Gateshead

Maidenhead’s battle against relegation from the National League was given a shot in the arm with a 2-0 victory at Gateshead.
The visitors surged into the lead in the 15th minute when a Nathan Ferguson free-kick was headed home by Manny Onariase.
Shawn McCoulsky then made certain of the win against play-off chasing Gateshead by capitalising on an error in defence in the 84th minute.
The win lifted Maidenhead out of the relegation zone and into 19th while Gateshead dropped to sixth.
