Kerkez and £83m ace join as Salah finally signs - Liverpool's dream end to transfer window

Liverpool are yet to make any January signings but there is still plenty of time for the Reds to click into gear before the window closes.

Arne Slot has done a brilliant job to put the Merseyside giants on course to win the Premier League title in his first season. There is still room for improvement in his Liverpool squad, though, with a number of exciting players having been linked.

Another priority will be to resolve the immediate future of Mohamed Salah, who is yet to sign a new deal at Anfield. As things stand, he will be leaving on a free transfer in the summer but that scenario could still be avoided.

Express Sport takes a look at how Liverpool could secure a dream end to the January window...

Kerkez joins from Bournemouth

Liverpool have been credited with a desire to land Milos Kerkez, who has excelled at Bournemouth this season. The Reds have identified him as the perfect man to replace Andy Robertson on a long-term basis, according to Relevo.

Bournemouth will not want to let him go easily and have reportedly slapped a £40million price tag on his head. This could be worth every penny for Liverpool, with a move for Kerkez able to secure their left-back berth for many years to come.

Robertson has struggled to live up to expectations at times and it seems his age might be starting to catch up with him. Kostas Tsimikas, meanwhile, has proven himself as a capable backup but Kerkez would be a definite upgrade on both players.

Liverpool do not usually spend exorbitant fees in January windows but the Reds could make an exception to land Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, who is making his mark at Borussia Dortmund.

The former Manchester City winger has emerged as one of Europe's brightest prospects and his impressive displays are said to be attracting close attention from the Premier League.

Dortmund have valued their man at around £83m, according to Sky Germany, meaning the Reds would need to loosen their purse strings to stand any chance of snapping him up.

However, it could prove to be a stroke of genius if he can reach his potential and develop into the world-class player he looks set to become.

Salah finally pens new deal

The uncertainty over Salah's future has been hanging over Anfield like a dark cloud, with no end in sight to his ongoing contract saga.

Clubs in Saudi Arabia are believed to be circling and ESPN have reported that Al-Hilal are preparing an astronomical offer to bring him to the Gulf state.

The obvious solution for Liverpool would be to break the bank and promise Salah a huge salary increase, but it will not be that easy. That said, it will be even harder for the Reds to replace him if he leaves in the summer.

A breakthrough out of nowhere would certainly be the dream scenario for Liverpool, with a new deal for Salah potentially more valuable than any January signing.
